WHOLESALE  SALES  LEAD

Reports to: Senior Manager, Omni-Channel Sales
Location: Boulder, CO on-site
Travel: Regional and national travel required (approximately 30-40%)
Compensation: Base salary $70,000 + commission plan based on wholesale performance against defined targets. Total compensation varies by results.


VanEssential is seeking a detail-oriented, relationship-driven Wholesale Sales Lead to grow our wholesale channel and expand key account relationships as a direct contributor to company revenue. This is an internal, hands-on role focused on execution, account ownership, and day-to-day wholesale sales operations.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Omni-Channel Sales, the Wholesale Sales Lead drives growth by strengthening customer relationships, providing market insights, and ensuring consistent brand execution across wholesale partners.

 
Core Responsibilities

Wholesale Account Support & Execution
 

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for wholesale customers, including van builders, RV dealers, and specialty retail partners.
     

  • Own wholesale account growth through consistent communication, follow-up, and service.
     

  • Onboard new wholesale partners and support existing accounts with reorders and product updates.
     

  • Manage inbound calls and emails from wholesale partners in a timely, professional manner.
     

  • Maintain accurate account information and order details within the wholesale order portal.
     


Sales Execution & Coordination
 

  • Lead line presentations, product walkthroughs, and customer meetings—virtually and in person.
     

  • Assist with order accuracy, pricing application, and issue resolution in coordination with Sales and Logistics teams.
     

  • Track sales activity and provide regular updates to the Senior Manager, Omni-Channel Sales.
     

  • CRM, Reporting & Data Integrity
     

  • Offer insights to support standing up and evolving VanEssential’s wholesale CRM.
     

  • Maintain detailed customer communication logs, including meetings, calls, follow-ups, and key account developments.
     

  • Ensure sales activity, account updates, and customer interactions are consistently documented to build strong, reliable data sets.
     

  • Prepare clear, accurate reporting on account performance, pipeline activity, and regional trends.

     

Planning & Forecasting Support
 

  • Inform wholesale sales forecasting by sharing account-level insights, anticipated order timing, and expected unit demand.
     

  • Provide SKU- and account-level inputs to support inventory planning and launch readiness.
     

  • Communicate known risks, opportunities, or changes in customer demand as they arise.

     

Marketing & Merchandising Support
 

  • Offer insight for wholesale-focused marketing campaigns, which may include in-store displays, signage, digital assets, and brand storytelling.
     

  • Help ensure wholesale partners have access to approved marketing materials and product information to support their upsell and sell-through efforts.
     

  • Visit customer locations, as needed, to understand product presentation and usage in real-world environments.
     

  • Support identifying wholesale collaborators for marketing campaigns.

     

Trade Shows & Industry Presence
 

  • Participate in company trade shows and relevant industry events.
     

  • Travel regionally (including day trips) and nationally to visit key wholesale accounts and support relationship development.
     

  • Represent VanEssential professionally and confidently with strong product knowledge and a customer-first mindset.
     

  • Support event setup, breakdown, and post-event follow-up as part of a small, collaborative team.

     

Market Feedback & Insights
 

  • Gather customer feedback, market observations, and competitive insights from wholesale partners.
     

  • Share observations with the Senior Manager, Omni-Channel Sales to support product, marketing, and operational planning.
     

  • Maintain awareness of trends within the van-life, RV, and specialty retail landscape.
     

 
Role Scope & Expectations
 

  • This role is focused on execution, account health, and workflow ownership within the wholesale channel.
     

  • This role does not involve people management, budget ownership, or departmental strategy development.
     

  • Success is measured by reliability, quality of execution, partner satisfaction, and contribution to team goals.
     

 
Qualifications
 

  • 3–5+ years of experience in wholesale sales support, account management, or other B2B customer-facing roles.
     

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple accounts, deadlines, and shifting priorities.
     

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a clear, professional style.
     

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and contribute to shared business outcomes.
     

  • Willing and able to travel regionally and nationally (approximately 30–40%).
     

  • Proficient in Excel, order portals, CRM systems, and basic reporting/forecasting tools.
     

  • Interest in van life, outdoor culture, and functional consumer products (a plus).
     

  • Reliable, proactive, and adaptable—comfortable operating in a lean, fast-moving environment.
     

  • Demonstrates a growth mindset and values collaboration internally and externally as a driver of success.
     

  • Able to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing for long periods at trade shows, lifting 50+ lbs, and occasionally sleeping in a van.
     

  • Bring a customer-first mindset, “can-do” attitude, and a sense of adventure and humor that fits a high-energy team.

 

  • Must have a valid US Driver’s License as driving a van will be required
